And what is this great controversial topic I'm speaking of? Pro-life vs. Pro-Choice? Gay rights? Religion?
See, I have exactly two responses to Twilight hate: laugh uproariously(because if it involves Robert Pattinson's amazing wit, I probably will have no choice) or start glaring ferociously. You know why?
I just don't understand.
Let me first say that, yes, I have read Twilight. It's no Austen. But it does, in my opinion, have legitimately funny or dramatic or romantic moments even if it is sometimes cheesy or narmy. I sometimes feel like I ought to ask the people who complain about Twilight if they've even read it.
Secondly, as Cassidy Tucker-a wholly sane and fabulous Twihard, you may notice-so aptly pointed out, where is the point in spending so much time expressing your devoted hatred for something? It makes literally no sense. You know who does that? Crazy people.
I think a large portion of the hate toward Twilight comes from the fact that the fanbase has given it a bad name. An The Twilight Saga has some very nuts fans out there, I'm sure. But so does every other fandom on the planet. I mean, seriously, have you met the SPN fandom? They're certified, and loathsome at times. Some, however, are very passionate and actually really fun to be around. All this is true of every freaking fandom that ever has and ever will exist. Ask anybody. Ask Arthur Conan Doyle. When did Meyer become the scapegoat for every dumb thing that fangirls have done?
Now, if you dislike Twilight because you aren't big on vampires, or because romance isn't your cup of tea, or just because, great. Good for you. You are entitled to that opinion. But you do not have the right to broadcast it to everyone on the planet and tell them they have to agree.
This is my opinion. You don't have to go along with it, but I felt the need to share it. Thankyouandgoodnight.
May your swords stay sharp and your chocolate stocks always plentiful.
