The Truth Is Out There

Do you believe the voice?
.....
I want to believe.
Hello, there, my darlings. A little birdie today got me thinking about something. Surprise, surprise-today's post actually has a theme, and I can summarize it with the question: Do you believe?

I'm completely serious here. Today of all days, one could be able to answer. It's Sunday. Today, millions of people worldwide(including myself)gather to celebrate a higher power. Not a bad pursuit, in my opinion, applying for the love of a divine being. Or how about angels? Or, while we're on the subject, demons. I consider myself an expert on the subject-but only on the ones that have black eyes and appear as smoke.
The supernatural has always fascinated me, something I pin the blame for on exactly two people: Jo Rowling AKA Queen of Everything and my father.
Let me explain.
I must have been only 10 or 11 when I met the gateway drug into my life as it is now: fantasy. Ever since then, I've looked for every suitable candidate in the genre. Even before that, now that I recall, I read classical mythology like Grimm's fairy tales. I love studying all kinds of lore and religions, figuring out what everybody believes or did believe, a long time ago. Sometimes it was a good, healthy, or entertaining thing, like the Greco-Roman plays about their gods or the early Christians martyred for a cause they believed in. Other times...not so much. I wouldn't call the Salem Witch Trials helpful belief.
Everybody wants a little magic in their lives.
So, what do you think? Ghosts? Fairies? Do you believe in any myths or legends? I'm sure everybody wanted to go to Hogwarts at some point in their lives(I know I did)but how many things do we actually consider real? As a lover of everything speculative fiction, this will always be at the back of my mind. Think it over. Are demons just the voices at the backs of our heads, or are they under our feet? Have fairies ever flown out of Neverland? Or worse yet, out of Victorian tales of faerie...
Hope you have a magical day! May your swords stay sharp and your chocolate stocks always plentiful.
